Borrowing Audiovisual Equipment

Audiovisual equipment for classroom or seminar use is available, at no charge, to those who possess a valid Yale University ID or YNHH Medical Center Library Card. 
Equipment available for loan from the Circulation Desk includes:
Digital Cameras- There are two available for patron use. Reservation recommended. (form)
Digital Video Camcorder- There is one available for patron use. Reservation recommended. (form) TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE
Slide Projectors - There are several available, and each projector includes; a spare bulb, remote switch, remote extension cord, and electrical extension cord.
Overhead Projectors - Two are available, extension cord for each one is included.
Videocassette Recorder and Monitor - One is available for patron use.

The equipment is available 7 days a week for check-out, beginning one half hour after library opening until 4 hours before library closing. Equipment is checked-out on a first come, first serve basis and may be checked out for a maximum loan period of 4 hours. For example, if the library is open from 8:00 am to midnight, you may borrow an item at any time, for up to 4 hours from 8:30 am until 4:00 pm. 

Note: The above check-out policies apply to the digital cameras and digital video camcorder with the following exceptions:

1.) The digital cameras and digital video camcorder may be checked out for 72 hours.
2.) The digital cameras and digital video camcorder  may be reserved.(Although not required, it is strongly recommended)

A $25.00 late fee will be charged for items not returned by the end of the loan period. This equipment may not be reserved in advance, with the exception of the digital cameras and digital video camcorder. 

The equipment is obtained from the Medical Library Circulation Desk.No technical assistance is provided. Patrons should familiarize themselves with the equipment before using it. Each slide projector has a diagram outlining the steps to change a bulb and also includes a parts check list fastened to the inside of the carrying case. Please report any problems to staff upon returning the equipment. Audiovisual Services checks the equipment each week.  If you need to reserve audiovisual equipment or require audiovisual equipmentother than what is available on this page, please contact Medical SchoolAudiovisual Services at 785-6630. They provide slide and overhead projectors,VCR's, tape recorders, microphones and other AV equipment, as well as projectionists and technical assistance on a for-fee basis.
