Training and Consultation Center
The library's Training and Consultation Center (TCC) is a 6-station computer classroom. It is primarily used for scheduled training sessions offered by the library. To see the current education schedule click here. Librarians are available for one on one consultation regarding resources in your subject area. Please visit the Library's Liaison Program for more information. Special educational sessions, library tours or orientations for your department are available upon request. Please contact Jan Glover, Educational Coordinator to arrange for a session that meets your or your group's individual needs.

Public Computing Facilities in the Medical Library

Computer Resource Lab (CRL)
The Computer Resource Laboratory (CRL) is located in the basement of the library. This 20-station computer cluster contains Windows NT and Macintosh workstations. It is managed by ITS-Med Academic Computing and is open 24-hours to those who possess a valid Medical Center ID card. In addition to access to the Internet and the library's resources, users can also access personal productivity software, such as MS Office and EndNote. The CRL also houses the Digital Imaging Center which is comprised of three Macintosh G4 workstations and two color scanners for student or faculty use. Click here to see a complete list of resources available in the Digital Imaging Center. Color printing is also available from the CRL. There is a charge of $1.00 per p rinted page. Printouts can be collected at the Circulation Desk during normal library hours.

Information Room
The Information Room on the first floor of the library is a 48-station cluster, containing both Windows NT and Macintosh workstations, including a new 12-station mini-cluster for personal productivity use.* Electronic resources are available from the Macintosh and Windows NT workstations in the Information Room. The library's homepage provides access to the Ovid databases, including MEDLINE, BIOSIS, Current Contents, PsycInfo, and Orbis (Yale's online catalogue); electronic journals and textbooks; an A to Z list of many bibliographic and factual databases; and e-mail. Macintosh and Windows NT workstations also provide access to computer assisted instruction (CAI) resources. A list of available CAI programs is provided at ../education/software.html.

* Please Note: These computers are for the use of Medical Center students with an activated ITS-Med NETID and password. If you are a visiting student or medical center employee with a Yale ID card, please use the Computer Resource Lab for productivity needs.
