ACP's PIER: Physicians Information & Education Resource

PIER© is a an evidence-based clinical guidance tool from the American College of Physicians. It includes a large collection of disease modules, procedures,and special sections on alternative medicine and ethical/legal issues. Updated monthly.
PIER is also available as a Web-based resource through the Stat!Ref E-books platform.

LABMAN - Yale-New Haven Hospital Laboratory Manual

This version of the Laboratory Test Ordering Manual provides collection requirements, testing details, contact numbers for results and other useful information for clinicians. Produced by the Automation Section of the Department of Laboratory Medicine.

mobileMICROMEDEX

Note to T5 & Treo 650 users: Program can't use expanded internal memory or memory card on these models. Installation unreliable. Must install entire application to handheld program memory. Space requirement of 16MB.

mobileMICROMEDEX provides contains condensed information derived from online Micromedex Health Series products. In addition to drug information, mobileMICROMEDEX includes a drug interactions module, targeted acute care points on hundreds of conditions, alternative medicine and toxicology information.

eMedicine

Subspecialty sections and individual monographs can be downloaded. Includes a dozen mongraphs and over 200 subspecialty sections.

Follow the "PDA and Wireless" link on the eMedicine homepage to download the reader and to select content. You will receive each file via email. Then use your install tool to transfer the file to your PDA.

The Antibiotic Guide is a "decision support tool" intended to provide clinicians with concise, digested, timely information about the diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases.

This program is free for healthcare profesionals. This includes the Merck Manual, the Pocket Guide to Diagnositic Tests and Reuters Medical News.

Avantgo

One of the best general resources for the PDA. With AvantGo, you can get thousands of specially formatted brand-name web sites ("channels") on your PDA: news, weather, eMagazines, maps, medical resources, and more.

Sanford Guide to Antimicrobial Therapy

The PDA version, for both Palm and Pocket PC platforms, contains the complete contents of the 35th edition of The Sanford Guide to Antimicrobial Therapy. The PDA navigation is highly intuitive and the simple web-like navigation will allow you to save time while still finding all the answers.

Shots 2005 is a quick reference guide to the 2005 Childhood Immunization Schedule, a collaboration of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), and the 2004-2005 Adult Immunization Schedule, recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP).

Riley Kidometer

The Riley Kidometer is a quick and intuitive database of age-based normals. It was created by the staff of Riley Hospital for Children and is now available for users everywhere.

STAT Growth-BP

This program calculates growth percentiles based on the June 2000 revision of the CDC Growth Charts for the United States, NHBPEP blood pressure guidelines and BMI calculations.
