Borrowing Audiovisual Equipment

Audiovisual equipment for classroom or seminar use is available to those with a valid University ID or a Medical Center Library Card.

The equipment is stored at and circulated from the Medical Library Circulation Desk. It is available 7 days a week, beginning one half hour after opening and ending 4 hours before closing. For example, Monday 8:30 am to 8:00 pm, and Saturday 10:30 am to 3:00 pm.

Equipment is available on a first come, first serve basis and may be checked out for a maximum of 4 hours. Please return promptly. A $25.00 late fee will be charged for equipment returned beyond the 10 minute grace period. This equipment may not be reserved in advance.

There is no fee for this service.

This program is operated on a self-service basis. Patrons should familiarize themselves with the equipment before using it. Each slide projector has a diagram outlining the steps to change a bulb and also includes a parts check list fastened to the inside of the carrying case. Please report any problems to staff upon return. Audiovisual Services will check the equipment weekly.

Equipment available for loan from the Circulation Desk includes:

Digital Camera- There is one available (reservation form).

Slide Projectors - There are several available, each with a spare bulb, remote switch, remote extension cord and electrical extension cord.

Overhead Projectors - Two are available, each with extension cords.

Videocassette Recorder and Monitor - One is available for patron use.

Equipment available for loan elsewhere in the Medical Library or Medical School:

A LCD panel is also available on a self-service basis through the Reference Department. Contact Jan Glover or call her at 737-2962 for more details, or to reserve this piece of equipment. The LCD panel is not included in the Circulation Department's program described above. There is no fee for this service.

If you need to reserve audiovisual equipment, contact Medical School Audiovisual Services at 785-6630. They provide slide and overhead projectors, VCR's, tape recorders, microphones and other AV equipment, as well as projectionists and technical assistance on a for-fee basis.
